Potions

So we have 1200 gp worth of potions from the halfling alchemist. I agree with Shopal that we need some healing potions. Are cure lights sufficient or should we think about getting cure mod potions for 300gp per? What about getting some resist energy (electricity) potions to help deal with the wisps? Those are 300 a pop as well.

Wisp Tactics/Preparation

We seem to have to deal with a lot of Wisps yet...the isle, the troll skull. What are some things we can do to combat them?

I was thinking having Belgannan learn Resist Energy. I would also like to requisition for Belgannan a wand of magic missile (as high level as we can).

Other ideas, spells, items, techniques are appreciated.

Wondrous Item Crafting

So the question goes out what do we want to craft in terms of wondrous items? I know the shirts were mentioned, there are a few odds and ends I would not mind crafting for Belgannan of which I cannot think of off the top of my head at the moment but I wanted to get the thread and discussion started to determine what we want to make and what order.

Strategies for Tendriculous

(OOG I thought it would be a good idea to work out some ideas and strategies for toppling the big plant, and since we do not seem to RP enough I thought it would entertaining to do it with some RP)

During an evening dinner, Belgannan glances up from his journal, his black eyes scanning his friends and speaks up, his voice with a hint of malice "In light of running from that giant plant, it may be beneficial for us to come up with some sort of strategy to rid this plane of its presence so we may expand our nation in this direction. We should come up with some ideas on how to kill it and counteract its and the area's attacks."

He turns some pages in his journal and finds his notes with a long white finger. "We know that it does not have any real vulnerabilities, one of you said it was immune to acid, and that it could regenerate, but it appeared that fire and possibly cold seemed to temporarily halt its regeneration process. It seemed pretty mindless given how easily it succumbed to my glitterdust spell."

Belgannan glares at his notes, sighs, and closes his eyes wincing at the memories slightly. "We also know it likes to capture its prey in its tendrils, paralyze its prey, and probably eventually eat it, so we should think of ways to counteract its poison and entanglements."

He opens his eyes again his brow furrows slightly, "We also have to deal with the stench which seemed to cause serious nausea even in the best of us, we will need to find a way to counteract that as well, or draw it out away from the stench. Any ideas on defeating this thing?"

Dragonhide gear

Anyone want the blue dragonhide breastplate and heavy shield that we found?

FYI - The armor and shield have immunity to electricity. If you have them enchanted with lighting resistance the cost is 25% less.

Three Week Extra Downtime Happenings (from Live Session on 12/06)

I wanted to start a thread on what we have done for the extra three week downtime we determined in the 12/06 live session

Here is what Belgannan has done, all expenditures have been updated on the Treasure Spreadsheet:

1. Spell Research - See Invisibility - Completed in 15 days - Cost 200 gold (all rolls in Roll20)
2. Create Scrolls
     Scroll #1 - See Invisibility, Glitterdust X 2 - Completed in 3 days - Cost 150 gold
     Scroll #2 - Endure Elements X 3 - Completed in 3 days - Cost 75 gold

Our Assistants (...the power behind the Hazard Guard Council)

For Fun and RP, I thought it would be fun to describe and talk about the people who rule in our stead while we are gone. I assume each of our characters have hired or have had hired for them have at least one assistant to help them to perform their Kingdom duties (Cademon probably at least has one if not more than one).

I had not thought of Belgannan's yet...he would be initially resistant to having an assistant and very particular about the choice of person. I am open to ideas as always.

Encounter Tactics

I was not sure where to put this thread but I thought it may be a good discussion to put out there to discuss. (Let me know where to put this)

We have a tendency to go all over in our tactics in an encounter, part of it is RP, part of it is that we usually do not have a "standard plan" for an encounter, and granted every encounter is different. I would like to maybe get some sort of regular idea of how we should tactically handle an encounter to best use our whole group effectively.

For example, I thought the manticore fight was a good use of our strengths, even though it was not perfect. I suspected it had a breath weapon so that is why I had Belgannan spread out on his first action.

Another tactic I have taken to using is throwing an invisibility on Ano'ha...with a pure and more or less dedicated healer who does not attack invisibility is a great deterrent from our enemies who have a tendency to go after her since she is our healer. It will not work in all cases (see Owlbear...stupid tremor sense) but in many cases it has worked very well.

I am open for any other ideas we can do to work as a group better in an encounter. This would also make the encounters go faster.

Belgannan's Spell Research Planning

So I decided to start a thread to get ideas of what spells Belgannan could research that would be most beneficial for the Hazard Guard. (Let me know if I should put this in another Category)

Currently (Fourth Level) he can cast zero, first, and second level spells. Remember he is a conjurer and his opposition schools are enchantment and necromancy.

His current First Level Spells are as follows: Burning Hands, Color Spray, Comprehend Languages, Endure Elements, Expeditious Retreat, Gravity Bow, Grease, Identify, Mage Armor, Magic Missile, Reduce Person, Summon Monster I, Unseen Servant, Vanish, Snapdragon Fireworks, Mount, Floating Disk, Polypurpose Panancea

His Second Level Spells are: Glitterdust, Invisibility, Mirror Image, Protection From Arrows, Scorching Ray, Summon Monster II

2nd Level Spells Belgannan is to research in the future: Knock, Create Pit, Acid Arrow, Detect Thoughts, Fire Breath, See Invisibility

3rd Level Spells Belgannan will acquire when he gets there: Summon Monster III, Fireball, Haste

I am open to any other ideas or spells that you all would recommend (thus this thread)

Adventuring Planning (Thurs Sessions)

Let's start planning a vague outline for what we want to do for our sessions so they can go quicker and smoother.

So, what are we doing? We're currently "out adventuring" and I believe we cleared one hex and were starting into a second? Or did we clear one hex and are going to head back because of the weather? Anyone have any other thoughts?

Let's try to avoid discussions about buying/selling/upgrading gear during session time because it takes forever to get a consensus from everyone and we end up wasting at least an hour every session on trivial stuff that could be done here or over email. It wouldn't be as big a deal in person because there could be multiple conversations going on without things grinding to a halt, but when there's only one channel for everyone to talk in, it's difficult.
